SLC has paid both missing payments into my account as of midnight last night and I will contact SF on Monday to pay them the £1,632 they have demanded.
I cannot begin to tell you how badly I feel I have been treated and for them to refuse to wait from Friday until Monday for the payment is outrageous. I was informed by the person who called me on Friday that Heiron, or however his name is spelt, had left NO NOTES AT ALL regarding our previous conversation a week ago. I am disgusted with this whole trail of incompetence and if I manage to get through this MProf I will make it my own personal mission to get time with the person in charge.
My mental health is not half as bad as some, but it has definitely taken a hit from this and I intend to make sure that the university, at the highest level, is fully informed of how I and my fellow students have been treated. The people on the phones in Finance seem to have no regard for anyone at all. Their tone and attitude is awful. They don’t seem to consider or even care that the person they are talking to may have mental health issues and certainly do not support us in ANY way. I fully explained that SLC had not paid the funds to me but as far as she was concerned that was no reason and I was to be deregistered.
To be treated as if I have been dishonest and that I am untrustworthy has had a profound effect on me. This may seem a tad overdramatic, but they clearly do not understand how the smallest of things can affect a person’s mental health. PTSD is a killer and the triggers for episodes are many and varied. They need to understand this and be far more mindful of it.
You asked if we would recommend the MProf to others, I would. I would recommend my experience with you and Dave, but I am sorry, purely from the way we have been treated by Finance I’d advise everyone to stay clear of Middlesex University. God only knows how some of the younger students are being treated.
Thank you for your continued support with all of this Brian, it has been greatly appreciated.
All the best
